What You'll Need
We keep the marketplace trusted: every PL8S chef is permitted and insured.
- A valid home-kitchen permit — MEHKO or the equivalent for your county. Don't have one yet? Start your MEHKO application here — in Los Angeles County, apply directly through LA County Public Health.
- Liability insurance (typically ~$25–50/month from food-business insurers) naming PL8S as additional insured — get insured through our partner and we're added as additional insured automatically. Already insured? You can submit your own Certificate of Insurance instead, as long as it meets the required limits and names Ivacay LLC, d/b/a PL8S as additional insured.

Every PL8S chef operates as an independent business and is responsible for their own food-safety compliance, permits, and licensing. In California, home-kitchen programs like MEHKO are adopted county by county — we'll help you understand what applies to yours during onboarding. Full details are in the Chef Agreement.
You Set the Price. You Keep Control.
Price every dish yourself. Cook 10 portions or 100 — drops are limited-quantity by design, so you never cook more than you can sell.
Customers reserve and pay in the app before pickup. You always know exactly how many plates are sold before you turn on the stove.
Payments are handled by a secure third-party processor and paid out to your bank account. Payout schedule and platform fees: coming at launch.
